-
What does therapy involve?Therapy begins with an initial consultation, offering you and your therapist the opportunity to meet and discuss your goals. This session allows you to explore what you want to achieve from therapy and gain a better understanding of how the process works. If you’re unsure about the specific issues you’re facing, this can also be explored during the consultation, with therapy tailored to your unique needs. Sessions are held weekly, with each session lasting 50 minutes. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to discuss your current difficulties. Together, you and your therapist will work to understand the challenges you’re experiencing and develop practical techniques and solutions to improve your situation. Therapy is a collaborative process, guided by your goals and supported by the therapist’s expertise.
-
How long will I need to attend therapy? The length of therapy depends on your individual needs, current challenges, and the goals you wish to achieve. Your therapist will regularly review your progress with you and discuss what you find helpful. This ensures that therapy remains aligned with your needs and allows you to adapt your approach as necessary.
-
Will therapy be confidential?Yes, therapy sessions are confidential. There may be instances where sharing information with other professionals involved in your care could be beneficial; however, this will always be discussed with you beforehand. In extremely rare circumstances, therapists may be legally required to share information without your consent to protect your safety or the safety of others. This will be explained in your first session, and any concerns can be addressed at that time.
